Digital art
can be defined as
art created on a
computer in a digital form. Digital art
can be purely computer-generated, such as fractals, or taken from
another source, such as a
scanned
photographs, or an image drawn using
vector graphics software using a
mouse or graphics tablet. The
availability and popularity of photograph manipulation software has
spawned a vast and creative library of highly modified images, many
bearing little or no hint of the original image. (Source: Wikipedia)
The first
steps of digital art date back to as early as the 1960’s. The most
important part of the digital art pioneers work was the writing of
computer programs in order to express their visual explorations. Things
got easier for digital artists after 1986 when more and more affordable
software became available.
Carine
Eischen’s
way to digital art looks a bit different. Carine Eischen’s work is no longer simple
picture taking but is digitally manipulated photography, hence digital
art. Have a look at the works yourself…
